Communication Standards

The Georgia 6th District Learning Network is a Cloud Based Learning Network.  Our Learning Network is connected to other learning networks through the @lantis Learning Network.

Classes are created by connecting lessons together.  Lessons are small modules that are put together for you.  We personalize a learning plan unique to each member of the network.

ALMS is an Evidence based Learning Platform.

Classes are created to teach a specific lesson or lessons.  Lessons are made of evidence and a conclusion, based on that evidence, on how that evidence supports the goals of the class.  Or the evidence might suggest that the class goals need to be changed.

Curriculum ties the classes together to represent a significant set of skills.  For Example, Business skills or Education skills.  The ALMS Curriculum roughly corresponds to a “Degree” in most Colleges.

All communication starts with a Class.

The Goal of the Learning Network is to Continually update the class so it is always up-to-date.

Teachers are only temporary custodians of the class.

A good class should live beyond any one teacher of that class.

A Class has a specific Target.

Evidence is offered in the form of Posts that either help the Class achieve the target or suggest why the target should be changed.

All requested changes to a Class are tracked using a Blockchain.

There is always one “Super Moderator” for every class.

The Super Moderator can make changes to the class without asking anyone.  If the community wants to modify a class and the Super Moderator refuses, the community could vote on the changes.  If the community votes to change the class, the Super Moderator can refuse.  However, a copy of the class could be made with the changes.  That would become a new class and compete with the old class for marketshare.
